Welcome to Sethru Jamjah.
I have been travelling the world for almost 2 decades and developed a fascination with gemstones, their colour and light on the wayside. I gained experience in 3rd world gem markets and received a diploma in coloured stones from the GIA. I have taught short courses in gemology to jewellery students and am a hobbyist lapidary.
The gems are sourced from rough material from mines all over the world, but especially from Africa, my home. Personally sorted, only the finest rough is cut and polished by hand. The cleanest material is faceted into one-off pieces including buff tops and concave cuts.
Cabouchons and carvings are designed to suit each piece of rough material. Beads too are handcut and drilled.
As I am personally involved in every step of the process, from mine to design, please don't hesitate to ask me any questions.
I may be able to help you find exactly the gem you need.
